Entering his 15th season with the Knights, Kirk Speraw has quickly built UCF into one of Conference USA’s top programs. The 2006-07 C-USA Coach of the Year, Speraw has developed a winning mentality at UCF and the success was clearly evident last year.
In only their second season in the league, the Knights went 22-9 overall and 11-5 to finish second in the conference standings. Teams and coaches around C-USA learned what those in Orlando have known for years: Speraw and the Knights are a winning combination.
The Knights, with their four overall NCAA Tournament appearances under Speraw, have averaged 21 victories over the last five seasons. Thanks to Speraw, UCF is not only a perennial power in the state of Florida, but also a nationally-recognized program. Since the start of the 2002-03 campaign, the Knights have won 106 contests, a mark that ranks 31st nationally and second among all state schools during that span.
