Inaugural Country Jam Concert

Award-winning songwriter Kendell Marvel is set to take the stage at the first-ever October Country Jam Concert, an expanded version of Art & Music in the Park and Food Truck Bazaar. The event, sponsored by 103.1 The Wolf, is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Lake Concord Park behind Casselberry City Hall. Having been recognized for writing hits for Chris Stapleton, George Strait, Jamey Johnson and Jake Owen, Marvel will come to Casselberry to perform hits from his solo debut “Lowdown & Lonesome,” a concept album that blends his musical down home country and rock & roll roots. Born and raised in Southern Illinois, Marvel began playing his first gigs at 10 years old. "My dad would take me out to bars, and I'd play old country covers," he remembers. "Dad would get free beer, and I'd get free pickled eggs or beef jerky. I was hooked." Before Marvel takes the stage, Alabama born artist, Bob Green, will get the night started. Green is a music lover from an early age getting his first guitar by age thirteen. After starting playing the blues, Bob has since found his unique voice, a style blending rock and blues, with a little bit of a southern influence. Moving to Orlando after college, he started playing live shows all around the southeast. His debut album, “Diamonds and Dead Roses”, is a prime example of his songwriting talent, with lyrics from the heart and haunting melodies. While listening to the music, you’ll be able to stroll through the park and shop at more than 20 local businesses and artisan booths selling jewelry, photography, paintings, and an assortment of other unique gifts and services.
